Health Services Report

The 'Iolani Health Services Department is closely monitoring the H1N1 (commonly referred to as swine flu) outbreak that was declared a public health emergency by the Centers for Disease Control.

'Iolani School's Health Services Department asks parents to remind their children to wash their hands frequently, cover their mouth when sneezing or coughing and most importantly stay home if they are ill.

Recently, some students have been complaining of flu-like symptoms.  Headache, sore throat, chills, body aches and upset stomach are the most common complaints

If your child shows any flu-like symptoms, especially fever, please consult your pediatrician.

Please visit the CDC H1N1 flu web-site at www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu for further information on H1N1 and the CDC investigation.
