AP Biology
Teresa Shimamoto earned a bachelor of Science degree in microbiology at the University of Washington. Under the direction of Dr. Steve Moseley she contributed to a publication in the Journal of Molecular Microbiology entitled A tripeptide sequence within the nascent DaaP protein is required for mRNA processing of a fimbrial operon in Escherichia coli. Following her stay in Washington, she received her Masters of Education in Teaching degree at the University of Hawaii. At Kailua High School she served as science fair coordinator, teacher and class advisor.

| Her teaching experience includes AP Physics C, Conceptual Physics, and Honors Biology. Since 2005 she has been on the faculty of 'Iolani School teaching AP Biology, Biology and Chemistry. Last year she was invited to serve as an AP Biology Exam reader. |
